Location: BS16 & other Bristol sites

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week (Shift patterns: 07:00–15:30 and 09:30–18:00)

Call-Out: Approximately 1 in 8 rota

About the Role

The Electrical Engineer (Multi-Skilled Electrician) will be responsible for delivering a wide range of electrical maintenance services. This includes complex fault finding, repairs, routine maintenance, testing, and installation work. This is a varied role that requires strong technical expertise alongside a proactive and solution-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carries out pre-planned maintenance of electrical systems and equipment
  • Completes reactive and remedial repairs following inspections and testing
  • Installs, tests, and maintains electrical systems
  • Diagnoses faults and resolves complex technical issues
  • Sources parts and liaises with manufacturers when required
  • Produces detailed reports on completed work
  • Ensures all work is completed within agreed timescales and to a high standard
  • Maintains accurate records, including risk assessments and maintenance logs
  • Uses PDAs or electronic devices to manage and track tasks
  • Liaises with the control hub to ensure efficient job coordination
  • Works both independently and as part of a team
  • Adheres strictly to all health and safety procedures
  • Participates in the out-of-hours call-out rota

Essential Requirements

  • City & Guilds Level 3 (2357) or equivalent, or a relevant apprenticeship
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in building maintenance
  • AM2 qualification
  • City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • ECS Gold Card

Desirable Skills

  • IOSH Working Safely or CSCS Card
  • L8 Awareness

Working Arrangements & Benefits

Location: Primarily based at BS16, with travel across Bristol sites

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Overtime Rates:

  • Time and a half: Weekdays after 5pm and Saturdays before 1pm
  • Double time: All other times

Call-Out:

  • £15 per day standby allowance
  • Overtime rates paid for attended call-outs

Travel:

  • 30 minutes each way unpaid

Company Van:

  • Provided for business use
  • Optional private use (subject to Benefit in Kind tax)
  • Private mileage charged at £0.30 per mile

Fuel Card: Provided

Sickness:

  • Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) applicable after 3 days (subject to policy compliance)
