Are you an experienced Network Engineer looking to work at the forefront of secure, mission-critical defence networks? We're seeking a Network Engineer (Deployable Services) to support the operation, enhancement and security of the Joint Military Network Integration and Information Assurance Network (JMNIAN). You'll play a key role in maintaining and evolving complex, high-availability network infrastructure that supports UK Defence and international coalition operations.

Working within a specialist delivery team, you'll design, implement and support secure networking solutions, collaborate with defence stakeholders and international partners, and help deliver critical networking capabilities across a highly secure environment. This is an opportunity to work on some of the most secure and strategically important networking platforms in Defence. You'll collaborate with highly skilled specialists, contribute to international initiatives, and play a direct role in delivering resilient, secure communications capabilities.

What you will be doing:

  • Maintain and support the JMNIAN network and international network gateways.
  • Deliver network design changes and architectural improvements.
  • Analyse network monitoring data.
  • Manage network security controls, including perimeter security and internet-facing policies.
  • Support software-defined networking and inter-enclave firewall solutions.
  • Develop automation and tooling.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation using tools such as Atlassian Confluence.

What you will bring:

  • Strong networking engineering experience within enterprise, defence, service provider or data centre environments.
  • CCNP certification (or equivalent experience).
  • Significant firewall engineering experience.
  • Palo Alto PCNSE certification (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with multi-vendor networking technologies.
  • Proven network design and project delivery experience.
  • Experience managing and supporting secure, complex network infrastructures.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: This is a hybrid position. 3 days per week on site in Salisbury, 2 days home working.

Security Clearance Level: Current DV Clearance.

Salary: Up to £65000.00

Benefits: 25 days holiday, Health Shields medical insurance, 6% pension contribution and life assurance at 4x salary, £5400 car allowance, 3% Flex benefit.
