Sourcing Specialist
Role Overview
The Sourcing Specialist manages the delivery of sourcing activity within a defined scope. The role manages sourcing requests and contract renewals from start to finish using established procurement frameworks, working with stakeholders to understand what’s needed, identify suitable suppliers and move activity through to completion.
The role uses standard sourcing approaches, engages suppliers and runs commercial negotiations within agreed limits. It delivers repeat and one-off procurement activity, managing incoming demand, supporting decisions and making sure all sourcing process requirements are completed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement requirements within scope that are understood and progressed using the right sourcing approach
- Stakeholders supported to make informed supplier decisions with timely input
- Suitable suppliers are identified and engaged through the correct procurement routes
- Competitive sourcing carried out consistently using the agreed frameworks
- Negotiations support the best commercial outcome within agreed limits
- Procurement activity moves from request through to approval and contract agreement
- Incoming demand prioritised to keep procurement activity on track
- Procurement governance, policy and approval requirements are applied consistently
- Risks, complexity or non-standard activity are identified and escalated appropriately
- Changes to requirements are tracked and managed to maintain control
- Supplier responses and relevant data are used to support fair and informed decisions
