Are you an experienced Platform or Infrastructure Engineer looking for a unique opportunity? Sopra Steria’s Aerospace Defence and Security sector is seeking individuals with a background in platform, infrastructure or DevOps for a project with the MOD. You will be on the front line of designing and developing technical solutions that support a key public sector client. This role offers opportunities to grow, learn and develop, with exposure to industry-standard technologies including public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure and OCI), automation and IaC tools (Ansible and Terraform) and containerisation. This is a hybrid role based out of our Salisbury office; you will be in the office 3 days a week on average. Due to the nature of the client, we are only able to progress with candidates eligible and willing to go through the Developed Vetting (DV) clearance process.
Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for all aspects of our automation capabilities.
- Embed and enhance open-source and commercial tooling for internal use to deliver enhanced capabilities to our customers.
- Understand and contribute to an Infrastructure as Code strategy.
- Assist with the definition of technical requirements for future capabilities.
- Provide technical support, mentoring and fault resolution to our support teams.
- Leverage and analyse operational data to inform decision making and support service owners.
What you’ll bring
- Production experience working with Broadcom/VMware technologies in highly available enterprise-scale environments.
- Working knowledge and hands-on experience with automation tooling and scripting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating systems and TCP/IP networking.
- Strong understanding of networks, protocols and network security.
Nice to have
- Hybrid and multi-cloud experience with Azure, AWS or OCI.
- Experience with Ansible, Terraform, and Aria automation tooling.
- Container technologies (Kubernetes, Tanzu).
