Are you a people‑focused leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment where priorities shift and delivery really matters? Our government frontline recruitment teams play a critical role in supporting public services. This role sits at the heart of that operation. As a Team Leader, you will lead a team delivering recruitment at scale, balancing pace, quality and stakeholder expectations, while creating an environment where people feel supported, confident and motivated to perform at their best. You do not need to be a recruitment expert to succeed here. What matters most is your ability to lead under pressure, take ownership, and bring structure and clarity to a busy, operational setting. We will support you to learn the recruitment side of the role. You’ll work in a hybrid way – spending two days a week in our Newport office (Mon/Tue), with the rest of the time working from home. Working hours 7.30am–3.30pm.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team, creating a positive, inclusive and high‑performing team culture.
  • Manage high‑volume, fast‑paced recruitment activity, ensuring work is prioritised effectively and delivered to agreed service levels.
  • Build strong, credible relationships with hiring managers and HR or Resourcing teams, acting as a trusted point of contact.
  • Use management information and data to monitor performance, identify issues early and drive continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership of challenges and changing priorities, making confident decisions to keep delivery on track.
  • Actively contribute to service improvement, sharing ideas and helping shape how we deliver recruitment at scale.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience leading a team in a high‑volume, fast‑paced processing or operational environment.
  • Strong people leadership skills, with a genuine passion for coaching, supporting and developing others.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectations with confidence and professionalism.
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset, with the confidence to take ownership and work on your own initiative.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills, with experience using data or MI to drive performance and improvement.

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems or similar workflow tools.
  • Exposure to recruitment or resourcing activity in any setting.
  • Experience working within, or alongside, UK Government or shared services environments.

Benefits:

  • 25 days annual leave with the choice to buy additional days, health cash plan, life assurance, pension.
