Finance Assistant - 12m FTC

Do you enjoy working with numbers, solving problems and seeing the impact of your work? As our team continues to grow, we're looking for a motivated Finance Assistant to help support a range of essential financial processes within a friendly and collaborative environment.

No two days are quite the same in this role. You'll support activities across accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial administration, reconciliations and reporting, helping to ensure financial information is accurate, complete and delivered on time. You'll gain experience across a wide range of finance functions while working in a structured environment that encourages development and continuous learning.
Working closely with colleagues who are committed to supporting one another, you'll become part of a team built on trust, collaboration and a shared commitment to delivering great service.

This is a 12m FTC hybrid role with Newport as your base location, and you will be required to attend the office two days per week.

What you'll be doing:

  • Processing and supporting a range of finance activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash administration and accounting tasks.
  • Ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved through effective workload management and accurate processing.
  • Taking ownership of day-to-day finance activities and escalating more complex issues where required.
  • Supporting finance period close activities, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting and journal processing.
  • Investigating queries from customers and third parties, resolving issues where possible and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Contributing to continuous service improvement by identifying issues, providing feedback and supporting the production of key financial information.

What you'll bring:

  • Previous experience working within a finance environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word skills with confidence working with financial data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when working with numbers and data.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise your workload to meet deadlines.
  • Confidence using systems and handling data within a professional environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving, accountability and supporting multiple finance processes.

It would be great if you had:

  • Knowledge and experience of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, including Oracle.
  • Experience delivering customer-focused service within a professional environment.

If you're interested in this role but not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what we're looking for, please do apply, we'd love to hear from you!
