As a Pensions Administrator, you will be joining an experienced and dedicated team who are focused on supporting our client to provide the best possible experience to all their Scheme Members. We are looking for individuals interested in developing a career in pensions, who are willing to learn and grow. You will be supported by the Team Leaders and Managers from day one, becoming an integral member of the team and encouraged to develop your skills and knowledge, including support for taking professional qualifications if you wish. We put the wellbeing of our people at the heart of what we do, and therefore flexibility of work is key for us. We offer hybrid working, typically up to two days per week in the office. Ideally, candidates will be based near our Newcastle or Newport (Wales) Centres of Excellence, though we’re open to considering strong candidates from other locations on a one‑day‑per‑month office basis at these locations.

What you will be doing:

  • Producing and checking calculations of member’s benefits using automated calculation routines.
  • Preparing and checking standard explanatory letters.
  • Resolve pension related queries for our customer by phone, live chat and email working with other teams in a timely manner – delighting our customer, escalating complex cases or complaints to a senior administrator or SME as appropriate.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of our pension administration records, currently based on the Compendia administration system.
  • Manage pension contribution adjustments including agreeing and administering recovery plans.
  • To collate, analyse data and prepare reports that are presented to senior team members.
  • Working with the payroll team and Client’s reward team as required.

  • Knowledge of Police Pension Schemes/Civil Service Pension Schemes or other public sector defined benefit schemes.
  • Payroll or Pension administration experience.
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting complex data.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft applications such as Excel and Word.
