Are you an experienced Identity and Access Management professional who enjoys keeping complex environments running smoothly while also helping shape what comes next? You will join Sopra Steria’s Identity and Access Management team, working on high‑profile systems for a prestigious UK government client. This role supports critical national security outcomes in a secure and trusted environment, alongside knowledgeable colleagues who value collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. You will be part of a Directory Services team working across multiple UK sites. The role combines business as usual delivery with continuous improvement, balancing operational stability with technology lifecycle management, regular component upgrades and the introduction of new solutions as client needs evolve. Due to the secure nature of the work, this role is office‑based. You will be based at one of our secure UK locations and will work on site as part of the delivery team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting business as usual operations across a large‑scale directory and desktop estate, including lifecycle management and component upgrades.
  • Designing, integrating and testing new hardware and software for incorporation into the programme infrastructure.
  • Administering and enhancing the environment, including user account management, access control, data allocation and network access integrity.
  • Providing third‑line support, responding to incidents in line with agreed service level agreements and escalating where appropriate.
  • Producing clear technical and operational documentation for proposals, service desk teams and end users.
  • Contributing to pre‑sales activity by helping scope solutions and accurately estimating implementation effort and cost.

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong experience with Active Directory Domain Services, Identity and Access Management and Public Key Infrastructure in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience working with Structured Query Language in a production setting.
  • A background in infrastructure or directory services support within a project and customer support environment.
  • Experience working to service level agreements and assessing task effort to support operational planning.
  • The ability to produce clear user‑facing and operational documentation.

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible.
  • Scripting experience using PowerShell.
  • An understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines.
  • Awareness of current and emerging technologies within your specialism and how they are applied in live client environments.
