Are you someone who enjoys bringing clarity to complex change, working closely with stakeholders and helping shape how improvements move from idea to delivery? We’re looking for a Functional Analyst to join our Technology function at NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS). In this role, you’ll work closely with the Operational Excellence Manager and colleagues across the business and IT to evaluate change requests, confirm requirements, assess value and define development activities. You’ll play a key role in progressing changes through approval and prioritisation, supporting handover to development teams, and keeping stakeholders informed right through to final sign off. You’ll be joining a collaborative and supportive environment where strong relationships, clear analysis and effective governance really matter. This is a hybrid role, with 1–2 days per week based in our Leeds office and the rest of your time worked flexibly.
What you’ll be doing:
- Evaluating change requests, assessing impact and value, and supporting presentation to relevant review and change boards.
- Coordinating requirements, prioritisation and handover of approved changes to development teams.
- Reviewing and managing TopDesk change allocations to support effective progress and resource planning.
- Working with stakeholders across all lines of business to guide them through the change management process.
- Maintaining visibility of the delivery pipeline, dependencies and priorities.
- Supporting business as usual change activity, continuous improvement and process adoption.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience working in a functional analyst or similar change-focused role.
- Experience managing complex work with multiple stakeholders at different levels.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan work and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with high attention to detail.
- Experience using reporting or visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Oracle BI.
- A good functional understanding of business processes and how change impacts delivery.
It would be great if you had:
- Understanding of DataOps and DevOps delivery practices.
- Experience using tools such as Azure DevOps and TopDesk.
- Experience working in the public sector and or the NHS.
