At Sopra Steria Aerospace, Defence & Security (ADS), we work on some of the UK's most critical Defence and National Security programmes, delivering technology solutions that help protect the UK and support those responsible for keeping our country safe.
We are looking for an Infrastructure Test Analyst to join our team, working within a highly secure, technically complex environment where the work you do has a real purpose and impact.
This is an opportunity to go beyond traditional testing, gaining exposure to a broad range of infrastructure technologies, challenging technical problems and complex systems that underpin mission-critical services. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists, developing your expertise while helping ensure the performance, reliability and security of essential infrastructure.
We're equally committed to your development. Whether you're looking to deepen your technical expertise, gain new certifications or take the next step in your career, you'll have access to training, development opportunities and the support of a team that actively encourages knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
You'll also benefit from flexible benefits and excellent career progression opportunities within a business that offers exposure to a wide range of technologies, projects and career pathways.
Due to the secure nature of the programme, this role is based on-site in Gloucestershire, with compressed working hours considered, including the option to work your contracted hours over four days.
What you'll be doing
- Testing complex infrastructure environments, validating physical and virtual systems, networks and associated technologies to ensure they meet performance, reliability and security requirements.
- Delivering functional and non-functional testing across Windows-based infrastructure, identifying issues and helping ensure systems are robust, secure and fit for purpose.
- Performing end-to-end integration testing, ensuring infrastructure components and technologies work effectively together within a complex, interconnected environment.
- Investigating and resolving technical challenges, analysing test results, identifying defects and working closely with engineers and technical specialists to support resolution.
- Taking ownership of testing activities, from planning and execution through to documenting results, reporting progress and supporting successful project delivery.
- Driving continuous improvement, contributing ideas to enhance testing approaches, tools and processes while building your own technical knowledge and expertise.
What you'll bring
- Experience in Infrastructure Testing, whether as an Infrastructure Test Analyst, Infrastructure Test Engineer or within a similar technical testing role.
- A strong understanding of Windows desktop and server operating systems, including their configuration, functionality and operation within enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Experience testing physical and virtual infrastructure, with an understanding of how different infrastructure components interact.
- Practical experience of end-to-end integration testing, identifying defects, troubleshooting issues and validating technical solutions.
- Knowledge of virtualisation technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V or Citrix, alongside exposure to Windows 10/11 and Windows Server environments.
- An ISTQB Foundation Level qualification or equivalent testing experience, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a genuine interest in developing your technical capabilities. Advanced Level Technical Test Analyst certification would be advantageous.
