Endpoint Engineer
Are you an experienced Endpoint Engineer looking to apply your skills in a highly secure environment where the work genuinely matters?
You’ll be joining Sopra Steria’s Aerospace, Defence and Security business, working as part of a specialist Endpoint team supporting a prestigious government client on Deep Vetting aligned programmes.
This role sits within accredited, high assurance environments and operates under strict security controls.
You’ll be working with trusted colleagues who value professionalism, collaboration and a strong security mindset.
The work combines business as usual operational support with project‑based delivery, shaped by evolving client requirements.
While the sensitive nature of the work means some responsibilities cannot be discussed publicly, you’ll be trusted to apply defined technical standards with sound judgement and care.
This role is office‑based in Gloucestershire due to the secure nature of the work.
Security Clearance Level: Enhanced Developed Vetting (e DV) – cleared or eligible.
What you'll be doing
- Designing, implementing and supporting secure Microsoft endpoint and server infrastructure within approved architectures and assurance processes.
- Providing third line support for complex incidents, including fault diagnosis, root cause analysis and secure remediation.
- Supporting both business as usual services and project‑based delivery aligned to client requirements.
- Administering and supporting Windows 11 enterprise estates and Windows Server 2019 and later.
- Using Microsoft System Center tools including Configuration Manager, Operations Manager and the SCORCH product.
- Using Power Shell and automation to deliver compliant administration and improve service reliability.
What you’ll bring
- Experience working as an Endpoint Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or in a similar operational role.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Windows 11 and Windows Server 2019 and above.
- Experience working with the Microsoft System Center suite in an enterprise environment.
- Experience supporting enterprise‑grade endpoint protection or anti‑malware solutions.
- Practical Power Shell scripting experience with an understanding of automation.
- Experience working in controlled, security‑conscious IT environments.
It would be great if you had
- Experience using Ivanti products.
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible.
- Experience operating within ITIL aligned service management environments, supported by an ITIL qualification.
- Relevant Microsoft or infrastructure certifications.
