Are you a Senior Infrastructure Engineer looking for an exciting new opportunity? Sopra Steria’s Aerospace Defence and Security sector are currently on the lookout for individuals with a background in platform, infrastructure or DevOps for an exciting new project working within the MOD. You will be on the front line of designing and developing technical solutions that support a key client in the public sector. This role is an excellent platform for experienced individuals looking to hone their Infrastructure and Automation skills in a fast-paced environment working on a truly unique project. You will have technical authority in this role which offers scope to work with industry standard technologies including Public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure and OCI), Automation and IaC tech (Ansible and Terraform) and containerisation. This is a hybrid role based out of our office in Salisbury, you will be in the office 3 days a week on average.
Due to the nature of the client, we are only able to progress with candidates eligible and willing to go through the Developed Vetting (DV) clearance process.
Responsibilities
- Research and own new technologies and understand how they can be leveraged in our secure managed service deployments.
- Design and develop complex, secure and highly available platforms to run critical services.
- Understand and operate a DevSecOps approach to drive greater automation and efficiencies.
- Provide 3rd line technical support, mentoring and fault resolution to 1st/2nd line support teams.
- Design new capabilities, develop standards and best practices.
- Take ownership of complex problems and see them through to resolution.
What you’ll bring
- Production experience working with Broadcom/VMware technologies in highly available enterprise scale environments in a technical leadership role.
- Strong understanding of networks and protocols and network security.
- Hands-on experience developing and using automation tooling and scripting.
- Experience supporting the design of complex systems and contributing to high quality design documentation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft and LINUX Operating Systems and TCP/IP networking.
- Experience analysing operational data to understand the health of the infrastructure.
What it would be great if you had
- Network technologies (LAN, WAN, Cisco switching, Software defined networking, ForcePoint and Barracuda security products).
- Hybrid and multi-cloud experience with Azure, AWS or OCI.
- Ansible or Aria automation tooling.
- Container technologies (Kubernetes, Tanzu).

Salary: Up to £65,000
