Are you an experienced Network Engineer well versed with Cisco and Palo Alto? We are currently seeking a technically sound Senior Network Engineer to join a pivotal team supporting internal network infrastructures. This role is as rewarding as it is important with lots of opportunities for learning and development, particularly in the technical sphere. Ideally you will come with a lot of the core networking skills, particularly in firewalls and switching (Cisco & Palo Alto), but there will be scope to pick up new technologies specific to the team, for example the MS Azure cloud platform. This role would be based from home with only very occasional travel, so we would be looking for an individual who is happy working independently most of the time but can also communicate effectively without being in the same room.
Due to the nature of the team and the internal security aspects we would ideally be looking for someone who holds SC and NPPV2 clearances but would be open to receiving applications from individuals eligible to go through the process.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage and maintain internal network infrastructure
- Administer firewalls, switches and network connectivity
- Measures and optimises infrastructure network performance
- Administers IT resources and networks (users, quality of service, site security, IT networks, telecommunications infrastructure, transverse applications)
What you'll bring:
- Understanding of network security principles and basic network principles including: Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls, Load Balancing, Routing and Switching, WAN and LAN technologies
- Direct experience in two or more of the following security platforms: Firewalls - Palo Alto, Switches - Cisco, Web Application Firewalls, and Azure networking
- Experience working in a service provider role previously
- Experience working with both physical and software firewalls
It would be great if you had:
- Relevant MS Azure certifications
