Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for all aspects of our automation capabilities.
- Embed and enhance open-source and commercial tooling for use internally to deliver enhanced capabilities to our customers.
- Understand and strive to deliver an Infrastructure as Code strategy.
- Assist with the definition of technical requirements for future capabilities.
- Provide technical support, mentoring and fault resolution to our support teams.
- Leverage and analyse operational data to inform decision making and support our service owners.
- Production experience working with Broadcom/VMware technologies in highly available enterprise scale environments.
- Working knowledge and some hands-on experience with automation tooling and scripting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft and LINUX Operating Systems and TCP/IP networking.
- Strong understanding of networks and protocols and network security.
Qualifications
- Hybrid and multi-cloud experience with Azure, AWS or OCI.
- Ansible, Terraform, Aria automation tooling.
- Container technologies (Kubernetes, Tanzu).
About the role
Sopra Steria's Aerospace Defence and Security sector are currently on the lookout for individuals with a background in platform, infrastructure or DevOps for an exciting new project working within the MOD. You will be on the front line of designing and developing technical solutions that support a key client in the public sector. This role is an excellent platform for experienced individuals looking for opportunities to grow, learn and develop offering scope to work with industry standard technologies including Public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure and OCI), Automation and IaC tech (Ansible and Terraform) and containerisation.
Location and role details
- This is a hybrid role based out of our office in Salisbury, you will be in the office 3 days a week on average.
- Due to the nature of the client, we are only able to progress with candidates eligible and willing to go through the Developed Vetting (DV) clearance process.
- Employment Type: Full-time, permanent.
- Location: Hybrid 3 days a week spent on site in Salisbury.
- Security Clearance Level: Eligible and willing to go through the DV clearance process.

- Salary: Up to Β£60,000.
