Are you ready to take ownership of a major SAP transformation? At Sopra Steria, we work at the heart of complex, high-impact programmes across Aerospace, Defence and Security. We're looking for an experienced SAP Techno Functional Consultant (ABAP) to join our UK SAP team, supporting a large-scale Enterprise Resource Planning transformation programme. You'll be part of a collaborative, DevOps-style delivery team working across a complex SAP ERP landscape. This is a hands‑on role where you'll take ownership from early requirements through to deployment and ongoing support. You'll also work closely with international teams across Germany, France, Spain and India, contributing to a truly global SAP delivery model. This is a full‑time, permanent role with hybrid working. You will attend your closest site one day per week, with locations in Stevenage, Bristol, Chester or London.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop SAP ABAP solutions to support data extraction, transformation, and migration.
- Build and support Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms and Workflows (RICEFW).
- Support data migration cycles, including mock runs, validation, and issue resolution.
- Carry out unit testing and support integration testing activities.
- Investigate, analyse and resolve defects and data issues.
- Work across SAP modules including Financial Accounting and Controlling (FI/CO) and Materials Management (MM).
Required Skills
- Strong SAP ABAP development skills, including Classical ABAP and Object‑Oriented ABAP.
- Experience with core SAP objects such as ALV, BAPIs, BADIs and user exits.
- Integration experience using IDocs, RFCs and BDC.
- End‑to‑end SAP delivery experience, from requirements through to production support.
- Solid data migration experience, including extraction, transformation and conversion development.
- Experience working in secure or restricted environments with strong documentation discipline.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA.
- Exposure to system carve‑outs or Transitional Services Agreement environments.
- Knowledge of ABAP Proxy or web services.
- Background in aerospace or automotive manufacturing.
