Newcastle upon Tyne (Hybrid – 2 days in the office) At SoPost, we build technology that helps some of the world’s biggest brands connect with consumers in meaningful, data-driven ways. Our platform is built in-house, used at scale, and continues to evolve as we grow.
We’re now looking for a mid-level Software Engineer to join our cross-functional Engineering team — someone who wants to influence how products are built, not just implement tickets.
The Role
You’ll join a collaborative team of 2 senior engineers and 2 mid-level engineers, working closely with Product and Information Security to build high-quality software that directly impacts customers. This is a full-stack, product-focused role where no two days are the same. You’ll take ownership of meaningful areas of the platform, contribute to technical decisions, and continuously improve how we deliver value. You’ll be supported by established cloud and platform practices, allowing you to focus on software development, product delivery, and technical quality.
- React
- Go (Golang)
You don’t need to be an expert in everything — we’re looking for engineers who enjoy learning and want to level up across the stack.
What We’re Looking For
- Around 3+ years’ experience in a similar web development role
- A desire to influence technical decisions and product outcomes
- Experience with some or all of our core technologies, with a clear appetite to learn
- An interest in full-stack development, including deploying applications to the cloud
- A strong problem-solving mindset and a collaborative approach to teamwork
- Experience with functional programming (helpful but not required)
- Curiosity about GenAI and how it could be applied to enhance products
- Understanding of database design, indexing, and data modelling
- Familiarity with Test Driven Development or quality-focused practices
- Experience using Git and an understanding of CI/CD workflows (e.g. GitHub Actions)
Why Join SoPost?
- Competitive salary plus bonus scheme
- Clear career development and progression
- Hybrid working (2 days per week in our Newcastle office)
- Training budget and long-term investment in your growth
- A role where your ideas and thinking genuinely matter
If you’re a product-minded engineer who wants to grow, learn, and make a real commercial impact, we’d love to hear from you.
