About Us

Sophos is a global leader and innovator of advanced security solutions for defeating cyberattacks. The company acquired Secureworks in February 2025, bringing together two pioneers that have redefined the cybersecurity industry with their innovative, native AI‑optimized services, technologies, and products. Sophos is now the largest pure‑play Managed Detection and Response (MDR) provider, supporting more than 28,000 organizations. In addition to MDR and other services, Sophos’ complete portfolio includes industry‑leading endpoint, network, email, and cloud security that interoperate and adapt to defend through the Sophos Central platform. Secureworks provides the innovative, market‑leading Taegis XDR/MDR, identity threat detection and response (ITDR), next‑gen SIEM capabilities, managed risk, and a comprehensive set of advisory services. Sophos sells all these solutions through reseller partners, Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) worldwide, defending more than 600,000 organizations worldwide from phishing, ransomware, data theft, and other everyday and state‑sponsored cybercrimes. The solutions are powered by historical and real‑time threat intelligence from Sophos X‑Ops and the newly added Counter Threat Unit (CTU). Sophos is headquartered in Oxford, U.K.

Role Summary

As an experienced, outcome‑focused Content Marketing leader you will help build and nurture our new content marketing team and elevate how content drives growth across the business. In this role, you will oversee the content strategy, manage a dispersed content marketing team, and ensure we deliver impactful, high‑quality content aligned to business priorities, customer needs, and brand objectives. You will play a crucial part in shaping our narrative, supporting revenue goals, accelerating product adoption, and strengthening our presence across key markets. Through your leadership of our Content Marketing team, you will help convey our brand voice and message, increase engagement with our security, product and customer stories, and drive measurable impact across the audience journey – from prospects and existing Sophos customers to our channel partners and the wider security industry. This role is ideal for someone who believes in the power of content in accelerating achievement of business goals, loves enabling a team of specialists to turn ideas into real‑world outputs, and can translate strategic objectives into content that over‑performs.

What You Will Do

  • Content Leadership & Strategy: Own and evolve the global content marketing strategy to support brand awareness, new logo growth, customer expansion, product launches, customer retention, and thought leadership. Translate business objectives into actionable content plans across the entire buyer and customer lifecycle. Lead content planning and prioritization across channels, audiences, and regions. Ensure all content aligns with brand messaging, positioning, and strategic product marketing narratives. Optimize the use of AI‑powered technologies to accelerate content creation, effectively balancing AI with human expertise and oversight.
  • Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of regionally‑dispersed content creators. Establish clear roles, workflows, and metrics to ensure operational excellence. Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Content Creation & Oversight: Oversee the development of high‑impact content including thought leadership, whitepapers, case studies, web pages, email copy, video scripts, social content, and more. Review and elevate content quality, ensuring clarity, accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment. Partner with our Brand/Creative Services teams to collaborate on the delivery of compelling multimedia content.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the wider marketing and Go‑to‑Market group to understand priorities and turn them into effective content strategies. Ensure content supports key commercial initiatives such as campaigns, launches, ABM programs, sales enablement, and customer expansion. Build strong internal relationships to source insights, customer stories, and subject‑matter expertise. Own the effective communication of content resources and how to take advantage of them across the marketing and wider go‑to‑marketing group, ensuring communications are aligned with broader internal communication efforts.
  • Performance, Analytics & Optimization: Define content KPIs tied to business outcomes. Track content performance using analytics tools and deliver regular insights and recommendations. Drive a culture of experimentation and data‑driven optimization across formats and channels.
  • Content Governance & Operations: Maintain a centralized editorial calendar mapped to company priorities. Oversee content governance, workflows, documentation, and scalable processes. Manage budgets and agency relationships.

What You Will Bring

  • Proven ability to connect content strategy to commercial outcomes, revenue goals, and customer needs.
  • Experience managing and growing high‑performing content teams.
  • Experience of cybersecurity solutions in the Sophos portfolio, with particular interest in Endpoint, Firewall, MDR, and security services.
  • Strong editorial judgement and exceptional writing/editing skills.
  • Deep understanding of SEO, content distribution, and multi‑channel strategy.
  • Strong cross‑functional partnerships and alignment with business priorities.
  • Ability to create a high‑performing content team delivering consistently impactful, on‑brand content.
  • Experience of social media platforms and social content creation technologies.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across cross‑functional teams while working remotely.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into easy‑to‑consume outputs.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives, stakeholders, and deadlines with strong project management skills.
  • Strong communications skills.
