This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with strong India tax expertise who enjoys working across multiple jurisdictions in a dynamic, international environment. The role offers broad exposure across geographies and tax disciplines, requiring a commercially minded individual who can confidently engage with non-tax stakeholders and build strong cross‑functional relationships.
The position is well‑suited to candidates transitioning from public practice (ideally with some international exposure) or those making a second move in‑house and looking to deepen their global tax experience.
What you will do:
- Support the collation and coordination of financial data from the APAC finance teams to enable accurate tax compliance across the region.
- Coordinate and review APAC corporate income tax returns prepared by external tax advisors, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with group standards.
- Assist with responding to APAC tax assessments, audits, and regulatory notices, including information gathering and analysis.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cash tax forecasts and complete tax risk assessments and questionnaires.
- Prepare the APAC regional tax provision for financial reporting purposes in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors, responding to tax‑related queries and supporting audits.
- Monitor and interpret changes in tax legislation and developments across the APAC region, maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge.
- Provide tax support for special projects, business initiatives, and strategic transactions as required.
- Effectively communicate tax concepts and implications to non‑tax stakeholders in a clear, pragmatic manner.
- Manage group tax administrative tools and processes, including tax compliance trackers and JIRA workflows.
- Support wider group tax initiatives and collaborate with global tax colleagues as needed.
- Continue professional development, including completion of tax and accounting qualifications to strengthen in‑house advisory capabilities.
- Participate in limited travel to support collaboration with the group tax and global finance teams.
What you will bring:
- You are a certified Chartered Accountant (CA).
- Up to 8‑9 years of total work experience.
- 4–5 years of experience in corporate tax across the APAC region, gained within a Big 4 accounting firm or multinational organization.
- Strong technical knowledge of APAC corporate income tax principles and statutory reporting requirements, with particular depth in India tax.
- Working knowledge of VAT/GST and other indirect taxes.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP tax accounting principles.
- Experience with tax technology platforms such as Thomson Reuters OneSource Tax Provision (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across finance and business teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- A proactive, self‑motivated mindset with the ability to work effectively in diverse, multicultural, international teams, focused on practical and commercially driven solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
