As an experienced, outcome-focused Content Marketing leader you will help build and nurture our new content marketing team and elevate how content drives growth across the business. In this role, you will oversee the content strategy, manage a dispersed content marketing team, and ensure we deliver impactful, high-quality content aligned to business priorities, customer needs, and brand objectives. You will play a crucial part in shaping our narrative, supporting revenue goals, accelerating product adoption, and strengthening our presence across key markets.

Through your leadership of our Content Marketing team, you will help convey our brand voice and message, increase engagement with our security, product and customer stories, and drive measurable impact across the audience journey – from prospects and existing Sophos customers to our channel partners and the wider security industry. Experience of and passion for AI to enhance content delivery and outcomes is a must. You will lead from the front, identifying how pipelines can be rearchitected using AI and helping redefine content marketing for the AI era.

What You Will Do

  • Content Leadership & Strategy: Own and evolve the global content marketing strategy to support brand awareness, new logo growth, customer expansion, product launches, customer retention, and thought leadership. Translate business objectives into actionable content plans across the entire buyer and customer lifecycle. Lead content planning and prioritization across channels, audiences, and regions. Ensure all content aligns with brand messaging, positioning, and strategic product marketing narratives. Drive the use of AI in content creation, transforming the way we approach workflows, evolving the role of the team in the AI era, and effectively balancing AI with human expertise and oversight.
  • Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of regionally-dispersed content creators. Establish clear roles, workflows, and metrics to ensure operational excellence. Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Content Creation & Oversight: Oversee the development of high-impact content including thought leadership, whitepapers, case studies, web pages, email copy, video scripts, social content, and more. Review and elevate content quality, ensuring clarity, accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment. Partner with our Brand/Creative Services teams to collaborate on the delivery of compelling multimedia content.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the wider marketing and go-to-market group to understand priorities and turn them into effective content strategies. Ensure content supports key commercial initiatives such as campaigns, launches, ABM programmes, sales enablement, and customer expansion. Build strong internal relationships to source insights, customer stories, and subject matter expertise. Own the effective communication of content resources and how to take advantage of them across the marketing and wider go-to-marketing group, ensuring communications are aligned with broader internal communication efforts.
  • Performance, Analytics & Optimisation: Define content KPIs tied to business outcomes. Track content performance using analytics tools and deliver regular insights and recommendations. Drive a culture of experimentation and data-driven optimisation across formats and channels.
  • Content Governance & Operations: Maintain a centralised editorial calendar mapped to company priorities. Oversee content governance, workflows, documentation, and scalable processes. Manage budgets and agency relationships.

What You Will Bring

  • Proven ability to connect content strategy to commercial outcomes, revenue goals, and customer needs.
  • Experience of cybersecurity solutions in the Sophos portfolio, with particular interest in Endpoint, Firewall, MDR and security services.
  • Strong editorial judgement and exceptional writing/editing skills.
  • Deep understanding of SEO, content distribution, and multi-channel strategy.
  • Strong cross-functional partnerships and alignment with business priorities.
  • Experience of using AI for content.
  • Ability to create a high-performing content team delivering consistently impactful, on-brand content.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across cross-functional teams while working remotely.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into easy-to-consume outputs.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives, stakeholders, and deadlines with strong project management skills.

In the United States, the base salary for this role ranges from $141,000 to $235,000. In addition to base salary, we offer additional compensation including bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package. A candidate’s specific pay within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant education, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
