Sopher + Co is looking for a Junior Business Management Apprentice to join our Business Services Team based primarily in our Borehamwood office, with one day per week in our Mayfair office. This role provides the rare opportunity to gain hands‑on experience supporting clients with the day‑to‑day running of their businesses, while completing a relevant apprenticeship programme. It\’s an excellent entry point for someone who is motivated to build a long‑term career in business management or accounting.

You’ll support the team across a variety of business management tasks, develop essential client‑facing skills, and gain strong exposure to real‑world commercial operations. Apprenticeship entry level will depend on your educational background.

Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Setting up bank payments
  • Raising sales invoices
  • Recording receipts and reconciling cash / credit card transactions
  • Assisting with preparing VAT returns
  • Analysing bank statements
  • Completing ad hoc client tasks (e.g., obtaining insurance policies, completing tax forms)
  • Sending post to clients
  • Liaising with HMRC regarding client matters
  • Maintaining client confidentiality at all times in accordance with Sopher + Co policies

About You

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and a proactive, motivated approach. You’ll need to be adaptable, organised and ready to take initiative while managing multiple client requests in a fast‑paced environment.

You will also have :

  • No prior experience required – just a genuine desire to build a career in accounting / business management
  • English and Maths GCSE (grades 5-9)
  • A Levels (A/C) desirable but not essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced computer skills and confidence using technology
  • High-level time management skills and the ability to work autonomously
  • A can‑do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong relationship‑building skills
