About the role
Please note that this role is based in the United Kingdom. To enable us to meet the statutory and regulatory obligations of the United Kingdom immigration system, you must have the appropriate immigration permission needed to work and reside in the United Kingdom for the duration of the employment. The Senior Marketing Manager is the lead brand advocate for TV series, driving best‑in‑class marketing across the UK TV distribution window. The role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on execution, delivering impactful pre‑sales and B2B campaigns while supporting clients in launching our shows in the UK. This role is based in London and is for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract covering maternity leave.
What you’ll do
- 80% Leading TV Series UK Marketing Strategy
- Full responsibility and ownership of the marketing strategy, P&L, B2B budget, consumer marketing budget, and partner marketing activity on SPEs TV series both at pre‑sale and for launch in the UK market.
- Act as the primary Sony contact and close business partner for all TV distribution client marketing teams in the territory, positioning Sony as the go‑to partner for close collaboration, leading with insight and nimble working.
- Accountability, along with VP Commercial, for forming and refining the B2B strategy across the entire UK TV series business, whilst simultaneously informing other EMEA territories and keeping them up to date with best practices and assets.
- Work in close collaboration with the SPT publicity director to develop and execute creative & innovative publicity campaigns across our major releases ensuring there is seamless integration of the publicity plans into the overall Marketing strategy for each show.
- Own the relationship and work with the research and insight teams to develop a close understanding of, and use consumer, shopper and customer insights to, ensure that all Marketing activities are both innovative and commercial, and drive genuine value across SPEs TV product.
- Ensure industry insight, future trends and competitor tracking are utilized to drive new innovative marketing solutions across titles.
- Create and deliver engaging, relevant product presentations to the company every quarter.
- Drive innovation through a test‑and‑learn approach to media and PR execution.
- 20% TV marketing process and direct report management
- Develop and maintain processes and structures to ensure TV Marketing works seamlessly across all windows.
- Home office best practice sharing and management of information flow.
- Monitor key market trends in all major markets; interpret and communicate this data so that it becomes compelling management information on which strategic decisions can be based.
- Develop the TV marketing executive, giving guidance and instruction and setting targets and goals.
- Ensure that the TV Marketing executive is delivering and approving assets for partners in a timely and efficient manner.
- Form relationships and work closely with Marketing teams in Western Europe to ensure useful information and activations are being shared across TV Distribution teams.
What you have
- Typically, 5‑8 years of experience in Marketing, preferably in the entertainment sector.
- Strong interpersonal skills required and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to influence, negotiate and persuade others.
- Business‑minded, commercially focused and able to understand business plans and control budgets.
- Proven track record in delivering creative, innovative and commercial marketing campaigns in a complex, multi‑faced organization or environment.
- Demonstrated success in devising and executing strategic marketing objectives and cascading these objectives and ways of working.
- Self‑motivated team player and facilitator.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects in a dynamic/changing environment and seeing those projects through to completion.
- Experience in managing agencies and third parties.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
