Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is the company behind the Play Station brand.

As a subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation, we’re part of a proud legacy of innovation and excellence.

SIE is a dynamic technology company, delivering cutting‑edge hardware and network services to more than 100 million people and an entertainment leader, home to some of the most beloved and recognizable intellectual properties (IP) in the world.

Our role at SIE is to create and nurture the experiences under the Play Station brand, a name synonymous with entertainment excellence and creativity.

About us

Our Creative Services team shapes how millions of players experience Play Station every day.

From global campaigns to Play Station Store, we create work that sits at the intersection of brand and performance.

As our briefs evolve, so do we - moving beyond exceptional creative execution towards bigger ideas, stronger storytelling and more strategic thinking.

We're looking for creatives who are excited by solving problems, shaping ideas and creating work that connects with players around the world.

Role Overview

We're looking for a Senior Creative Designer who combines strong visual creative skills with a passion for brand positioning, customer insight and creative strategy.

You'll help shape how Play Station's digital products and services are positioned, understood and experienced by players around the world.

This role starts before design begins.

You'll challenge briefs, uncover customer insights and turn complex offerings into clear, compelling propositions that connect functional benefits with emotional appeal.

Working alongside designers, copywriters and other creative specialists, you'll translate that thinking into distinctive visual territories, creative direction and digital brand experiences.

You'll also build and present compelling creative proposals, bringing stakeholders with you through clear thinking, confident storytelling and inspiring ideas.

This isn't primarily a traditional advertising campaign or production-design role.

It's an opportunity to shape the strategy and creative direction behind Play Station's digital products and services.

What you'll be doing

  • Understand the business challenge - Interrogate briefs, challenge assumptions and identify the underlying business and customer problems.
  • Connect marketing objectives with customer behaviour to find stronger creative opportunities.
  • Shape positioning and propositions - Use customer research, insights and performance data to help define brand positioning, messaging hierarchies and compelling customer propositions.
  • Turn complex features into meaningful functional and emotional benefits.
  • Develop creative and visual direction - Translate strategy into distinctive visual territories, brand identity concepts and design principles.
  • Work with designers, copywriters and creative specialists to develop ideas that are clear, engaging and unmistakably Play Station.
  • Create connected digital experiences - Ensure creative positioning works across Play Station Store, Play Station. com, CRM, social and other digital touchpoints, adapting messaging and creative direction to different audiences and stages of the customer journey.
  • Build and sell the idea - Create high-quality, visually compelling presentations that simplify complex thinking, communicate creative recommendations and inspire stakeholder confidence.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to raise creative standards and share effective ways of working.

What we're looking for

  • Around 8+ years' experience in creative design, brand design, digital art direction or a related multidisciplinary creative role.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating visual creative craft alongside strategic thinking, including brand positioning, customer propositions and creative direction.
  • Experience using customer insight and research to shape creative strategy and translate positioning into visual identities, creative territories or design systems.
  • Experience developing creative for digital products, services, commerce or customer-facing digital communications - not solely traditional advertising campaigns.
  • Strong visual storytelling and presentation skills, with experience building and presenting compelling creative proposals to clients or senior stakeholders.
  • A collaborative approach, working confidently with designers, copywriters and other specialists to bring ideas to life.
  • Curiosity about popular culture, entertainment, technology and how audiences discover, consume and engage with content.

Desirable

  • Experience in gaming, entertainment, or consumer technology sectors
  • Experience working in both agency and in-house creative teams.
  • Experience developing creative frameworks or pitching methodologies
  • Familiarity with digital marketing, performance marketing or customer engagement.
  • Experience working alongside Creative Directors, Design Directors or Creative Leads, with an ambition to develop into a broader creative leadership role.
  • Familiarity with digital retail, performance marketing, or personalization (DCO)

Benefits

  • Hybrid working
  • Discretionary bonus opportunity
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Dental Scheme
  • 25 days holiday per year
  • On Site Gym
  • Subsidised Café
  • Free soft drinks
  • On site bar
  • Access to cycle garage and showers
