Role Description: PlayStation has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Account Manager II to join our Developer Technology Group, supporting our Korean game development partners. This role is dedicated exclusively to the Korean games industry, acting as the primary technical relationship manager for a portfolio of Korean developers and publishers creating games for PlayStation platforms. As a trusted technical advisor, you will work closely with partner studios throughout the development lifecycle, helping them overcome technical challenges, adopt PlayStation technologies, and deliver the best possible gaming experiences. You will also collaborate with internal engineering, product, and business teams across the UK, Japan, and globally to advocate for partner needs and influence the future of our developer support. This is an international role requiring regular engagement with Korean partners and frequent travel to both Korea and Japan.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical relationship manager for a portfolio of Korean game developers and publishers.
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with technical leaders and development teams across the Korean games industry.
- Lead partner engagements and collaborate with teams around the world to deliver a consistent, high-quality developer experience.
- Bridge the technical and business aspects of game development by working closely with Developer Technology Group (DTG) engineers and business account management teams.
- Meet regularly with assigned partners to proactively identify project risks, technical challenges, support requirements, and opportunities for collaboration.
- Maintain strong ownership of partner accounts and game titles, driving issues to resolution and ensuring an exceptional partner experience.
- Represent the voice of Korean development partners internally, collecting feedback and advocating for product and service improvements.
- Recommend and promote PlayStation development best practices and technical guidance.
- Deliver onsite technical support, workshops, and training sessions for partner studios.
- Contribute to technical training events, postmortems, advisory panels, and knowledge sharing across the global organisation.
- Travel frequently to Korea and Japan to visit partner studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment offices.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Professional proficiency in both Korean and English.
- Strong understanding of the Korean game development industry, ecosystem, and studio culture, with experience working directly with Korean game developers, publishers, or development partners.
- Hands-on engineering experience with game development SDKs and the ability to understand and troubleshoot technical development challenges.
- Understanding of modern game development pipelines and production workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer-focused mindset.
- Familiarity with development tools and the ability to quickly understand complex technical projects in development.
- Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively with globally distributed engineering and business teams to provide an outstanding service to partners.
- Ability to coordinate technical expertise across multiple teams to resolve partner issues, identifying the appropriate specialists when required.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Korea and internationally, particularly to Japan.
Preferred:
- Technical knowledge of the PlayStation platform.
- Direct console game development experience, including contributing to the launch of a console title in a technical capacity.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams.
- Japanese language skills.
- Experience working with external game development partners.
