Why Sony Interactive Entertainment? Sony Interactive Entertainment isn’t just the Best Place to Play — it’s also the Best Place to Work. Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is the company behind the PlayStation brand. As a subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation, we’re part of a proud legacy of innovation and excellence. SIE is a dynamic technology company, delivering cutting‑edge hardware and network services to more than 100 million people and an entertainment leader, home to some of the most beloved and recognizable intellectual properties (IP) in the world. Our role at SIE is to create and nurture the experiences under the PlayStation brand, a name synonymous with entertainment excellence and creativity.
Role Overview: 12m Fixed Term Contract. This is an opportunity to own and drive packaging projects for one of the most iconic brands in entertainment. As part of the Global Packaging team, you’ll work at the intersection of product development, operations, design, and marketing, helping bring new PlayStation hardware and products from concept to launch. You’ll coordinate global stakeholders, navigate complex project dependencies, and ensure packaging is delivered on time, compliant, localised, and production‑ready. If you enjoy bringing structure to complexity, influencing cross‑functional teams, and seeing products launch at a global scale, this role offers both challenge and impact.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support packaging engagement from early concept and NPI planning stages through to production readiness.
- Coordinate key packaging inputs, including project scope, disclosure status, SKU complexity, regulatory requirements, regional needs, localisation, and operational dependencies.
- Maintain clear project trackers, milestone plans, action logs, risk registers, and status updates for assigned packaging projects.
- Provide regular visibility to Global Packaging leadership on progress, risks, blockers, decisions needed, and upcoming deadlines.
- Coordinate cross‑functional review cycles with Product, Hardware Operations, Creative, Legal, PS&C, GMK, GCS, Supply Chain, Compliance, regional teams, agencies, and vendors.
- Support packaging content and artwork readiness, including legal lines, compatibility statements, model numbers, regulatory text, trademark requirements, QR/URL requirements, product imagery, icons, and localisation inputs.
- Liaise with Supply Chain and operational partners to align packaging milestones with production, artwork release, print readiness, and launch requirements.
- Escalate risks or delays clearly and promptly, helping stakeholders reach decisions and keeping projects moving.
- Document ways of working and support process improvements that improve visibility, repeatability, continuity, and team resilience.
What we’re looking for:
- Significant experience in packaging project management, packaging development, print production, operations, or related project coordination.
- Experience managing complex cross‑functional projects with multiple stakeholders, approval stages, and dependencies.
- Strong understanding of packaging artwork development, print readiness, localisation, compliance, or production workflows.
- Excellent project tracking, communication, follow‑up, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Comfort working with confidential early‑stage product information and ambiguous project environments.
- Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently as a senior individual contributor.
- Able to identify risks, create clarity, and build momentum across teams and geographies.
Preferred experience:
- Experience with consumer electronics, gaming, entertainment, or regulated product packaging.
- Familiarity with NPI, DVT, PVT, MP, or equivalent product development milestones.
- Experience working with Creative, Legal, Compliance, Supply Chain, Product, Marketing, or regional publishing teams.
- Experience using project tracking tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, or similar.
- Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign or Illustrator is advantageous but not essential.
- Japanese language capability or experience working with Japan/Asia stakeholders would be beneficial.
Success in this role looks like:
- Packaging risks and requirements are identified earlier in the project lifecycle.
- Project status, ownership, actions, risks, and decisions are clearly tracked and visible.
- Stakeholders are engaged at the right time and review cycles are well coordinated.
- Artwork, content, localisation, and operational readiness milestones are met or escalated appropriately.
- Processes are documented in a way that improves continuity, cross‑training, and team resilience.
Benefits:
- Discretionary bonus opportunity
- Hybrid working (FlexModes)
- Private Medical Insurance
- Dental Scheme
- London Allowance (if applicable)
- 25 days holiday per year
- On Site Gym
- Cafe/Coffee Bar
- Free soft drinks
- On site bar
- Access to cycle garage and showers
