This London-based role sits at the heart of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s UK & Ireland TV Distribution team, supporting sales growth and strategic partnerships across the territory. The position combines commercial acumen with strong analytical capability, contributing to revenue generation, deal negotiation, sales planning and client relationship management. With a focus on key content categories including Unscripted, Deep Library, Foreign Language and Kids/Animation, the role plays a critical part in maximising product performance and identifying incremental revenue opportunities. The successful candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, Research, Marketing, Operations and wider Sony divisions to optimise deals, enhance client engagement and support the full end-to-end sales lifecycle. What you’ll do:

  • In close partnership with the wider team, support sales efforts across the territory, contributing to and exceeding a percentage of the annual sales budget.
  • Support team members in managing existing deal commitments and partnerships, while proactively identifying, creating, and initiating new business opportunities across the territory.
  • Maintain in-depth product knowledge across SPE’s key categories, with particular focus on Unscripted, Deep Library, Foreign Language, and Kids/Animation, continuously identifying incremental revenue opportunities.
  • Act as territory lead for Malta and support the Sales Manager as territory lead for Ireland.

Sales Planning & Analysis

  • Develop a strong understanding of all aspects of sales planning, including optimisation of product windowing and pricing to maximise value, while aligning with business objectives, market conditions, best practices, and in-depth analysis.
  • Partner with Sales Planning to create client-focused avails, including recommending titles based on the latest client feedback, and share avail updates with the wider client base as required.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Research, and Analysis teams, as well as other SPE divisions, to analyse data, build structured insights on product performance and revenue trends, and craft data-driven business recommendations to improve performance.
  • Work with the Sales Planning team to provide updates on Franchise Alignment and SVOD seasonal opportunities, suggesting recommendations and identifying commercial focus areas.
  • Proactively follow up with Research teams to fulfil client reporting requests in line with contractual commitments.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to develop bespoke, engaging client-facing presentations to support commercial discussions.

Deal Negotiation & Management

  • Independently create, negotiate, and paper commercially smart deals and favourable terms aligned with strategic objectives and within SPT policies and guidelines, optimising product/grant of rights against revenue generation.
  • Utilise all available data and insights appropriately to inform decision-making and optimise deal structures.
  • Lead and support negotiations in collaboration with SPE legal counsel and central teams.
  • Ensure Sony’s ability to fully service all existing and new deal commitments.

Financial Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of annual sales budgets and mid-range plans.
  • Provide accurate sales estimates and projections for individual deals and products, ensuring projections and budgets are achieved or exceeded.

Account Management & Relationships

  • Develop, grow, and maintain strong, lasting relationships with key clients, partners, managers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Build a deep understanding of client drivers, goals, and needs, adapting commercial approaches accordingly through regular interaction.

Marketing, Promotions & Publicity

  • Work closely with the UK & Ireland Marketing team to enhance presentation materials and tactical efforts that improve pre- and post-sales processes, strengthening content pitches and client relationships.
  • When appropriate, guide the Marketing and Research teams in developing bespoke pitch presentations tailored to each client's palette, style, language, and performance metrics.

Sony Relationships

  • Following the combination of Sony Pictures TV Distribution and Home Entertainment, and the implementation of a Territory Management Structure, build strong relationships within the UK structure, share best practices, and learn from cross-line-of-business (x-LOB) and international colleagues.
  • Develop and nurture relationships across Sony Pictures Television and other SPE divisions (including Theatrical, Home Entertainment, Production, Legal, GMS, People & Organisation, etc.), as well as with other Sony Corporation entities such as Sony Music, Electronics, Sony Mobile, and PlayStation.

Operations

  • Collaborate closely with the territory team to continuously improve processes and performance.
  • Work with Operations teams in Los Angeles and London to improve efficiency and accuracy across avail list generation, contract management, amendments, start orders, change orders, approvals, draft allocations, and product delivery.

What you have:

  • Typically 1–2 years’ experience with a strong track record in a similar sales role within the TV distribution business.
  • Good understanding of all forms of TV/film distribution, including Free TV, Pay TV, Basic TV, TVOD, EST, SVOD, and PPV.
  • Experience supporting deal negotiations, with the ability to analyse, evaluate, and clearly communicate opportunities, risks, and uncertainties to the Vice President, working closely with Legal and other departments.
  • Ability to assist in managing the full end-to-end sales lifecycle: pre-sales analysis, deal preparation, product presentation, negotiation, execution, post-sales relationship management, and deal optimisation.
  • Confident self-starter with strong critical thinking skills; able to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proactive problem solver who is flexible, adaptable, pragmatic, resourceful, and highly organised; capable of working independently and using initiative.
  • Strong presentation and sales skills, with the ability to manage both client and internal relationships effectively.
  • Understanding of technology, digital distribution business models, and client requirements.
  • Collaborative team player able to work closely with Legal & Business Affairs, Technology, Marketing, Publicity, Research, Operations, Analysis, and other departments.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with high proficiency in Excel and experience consolidating and analysing complex data from multiple sources.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Word, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the territory as required.
