Sony Music is seeking an exceptional Communications Assistant to tell the story of our company, artists, record labels and executives. We are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal skills, to communicate the stories that differentiate Sony Music UK. This is a hands-on role for someone curious, proactive and creatively driven, who wants to make a real impact at the heart of a fast-moving, high-profile business. Success in this role means becoming a trusted team player who spots opportunities, delivers great content, and helps bring our voice to life internally and externally.
What you'll do:
- Internal Communication: Drive internal storytelling: Assist with media monitoring and daily press coverage sharing, ensuring teams and executives are informed, recognised, and connected to the broader Sony Music story.
- Bring our culture to life: Be part of the team that drives forward internal culture, generates ideas and work with our sister companies and HQ in NY to bring the story of Sony Music to life. Assist the team with strategies, planning and support with company events and meetings including liaising with labels for weekly company meetings, hosted by the CEO.
- Create compelling content: Assist with the drafting of internal communications across channels (newsletters, intranet, announcements) and contribute to developing new platforms and formats that engage employees and amplify key initiatives, including Impact & Inclusion work.
- Collaborate across the business: Build strong relationships with labels and departments to identify PR opportunities, support approvals processes, and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
- Measure what matters: Track performance of communications channels and campaigns, using insight and data to continuously improve how we reach and engage employees.
External Communication and PR:
- Support external communications: Contribute to award entries, media materials and corporate storytelling that positions Sony Music UK, its labels, executives and social impact initiatives positively in the market.
- Strengthen our external presence: Assist with media planning and content development across channels including Sony Music UK’s website and LinkedIn, helping to build understanding of our strategy, performance and brand.
Team Support:
- Enable the team to deliver: Provide essential support across the function, including basic design of branded materials (posters, invitations), project coordination (Asana), managing POs and invoices, and maintaining media lists and key documents.
- Support Director of Communications and work in tandem with the Public Affairs team.
Who you are:
- You already have some experience writing clear and engaging content (e.g. emails, newsletters, press releases, web/social copy).
- You are highly organised and can coordinate multiple tasks without things slipping.
- You collaborate well with others and build positive relationships across teams.
- You have strong attention to detail and ensure work is accurate and high quality.
- You have a basic understanding of digital channels.
- You have a strong interest in music, media and PR.
