The Orchard is a leading music distribution company, operating in over 40 markets worldwide. With a comprehensive artist and label services offering including full-service marketing, sync licensing, video services, transparent data analysis, advertising, rights management, digital and physical distribution, The Orchard empowers creators and businesses to grow and adapt in the dynamic global industry. In 2015 The Orchard became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment, continuing to operate independently within the Sony family.

This Internship involves working closely with our teams to support and assist the account management team create compelling content campaigns for our artists and labels whilst also managing key day to day relationships with digital retailers. As well as supporting pitching for playlist placements, there will be an element of getting involved in pitching collaborative marketing campaigns to the digital services. This would be suited to a person who is able to balance analytical thinking with creativity, and would like an opportunity to bring digital campaigns to life against measurable targets.

Role Overview:

  • Office attendance: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are in office work days
  • Flexibility: Friday is the allocated work from home day but other flexibility can be discussed
  • Offsite working: Gig or event attendance would be preferable

What you'll do:

  • Generate reports and priority release schedules for the team as part of our sales strategy
  • Assist with pitches with retail accounts and to ensure The Orchard's repertoire receives maximum promotion and exposure
  • Support relationships with digital retailers, including global services and local services
  • Ensure close retail relationships are maintained by attending meetings, events and gigs
  • Utilise Orchard tools and technology for campaign execution and analysis
  • Become an active participant in our playlisting & audience growth strategy

Who you are:

  • Essential: Interested in leading digital retail platforms (Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Youtube etc)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Excel, Powerpoint & Word
  • An analytical mind, ability to work with numbers and data without issues
  • Nice to have: Understanding of the social media landscape

Process Overview:

  • Applications open August 10th at 10:00 and close August 24th at 10:00.
  • Candidates whose applications are selected will be invited to complete a video interview between September 28th and October 3rd.
  • Candidates who pass this stage will then be invited to the final stage of the process, an in-person assessment centre in early November. We will send further information on this stage before the date arrives.
  • Successful applicants will start in January 2027.
