Columbia Records is a premier frontline label of Sony Music Entertainment. Its roster features some of the most famous names in music history including Bob Dylan, Foo Fighters and Bruce Springsteen, alongside some of the finest cutting-edge artists in the world today such as Calvin Harris, Rosalia and Central Cee. Founded in 1887, Columbia is the oldest surviving brand name in pre-recorded sound and home to an array of notable singers, instrumentalists and groups.
The Digital department is an exciting, fast paced, forward-thinking, front-line department. We are responsible for managing strategy for artists across social, content and online platforms. It's a busy department, but a very rewarding one, at the centre of every artist campaign - from when they are first signed, to when they are headlining their first arena! We are a close-knit group and work brilliantly as a team, helping each other to achieve our goals and being there to support each other as much as possible.
As an Intern, you will provide effective, consistent and confidential administrative support to the label’s digital and marketing team – incorporating all elements of a campaign from content, social, advertising, website support, CRM and more. You will act as the main office-based point of contact and represent the team impeccably, keeping up to date with campaigns and information needed to communicate effectively on behalf of the team.
Role Overview:
- Office attendance: Monday to Thursday
- Flexibility: Friday is flexible depending on preference and work load
- Offsite working: Events and shows can take place any day of the week with occasional late nights, where the digital intern will be shooting mobile content from time to time
What you'll do:
- Responsible for providing release links & general digital housekeeping, including video descriptions and pitches
- Work closely with our Digital, Influencer and Marketing managers to collate assets and create updates for us and our partners
- Build and develop social media plans for UK label channels including TikTok and Instagram, alongside ideation for artists
- Shoot mobile content at shows and events, to integrate into channel social plans plus wider content strategies
- Assist content and influencer teams with ideation and asset creation for TikTok, Reels and other emerging platforms
- Help build email marketing campaigns for artists, with focus on creative new ways to connect with audiences and growing databases
- Use Sony and external tools to deep dive into relevant campaigns to provide reports and learnings across social/UGCs, audience and influencers
- Keep up to date with all social platforms, suggesting ways to integrate updates into artist campaigns and preparing presentations to educate the wider team via case studies
- Book meetings both internally and externally alongside booking any travel or arrangements required
- Be pro-actively responsible for all general admin including purchase orders, monitoring payments, sending bikes, communicating agendas and meeting notes
Who you are:
Essential
- Someone with a strong interest in digital and knowledge of the main streaming platforms. Previous experience across running social channels or mailing lists would be a bonus
- Confidently able to interpret stats and bring meaningful insight to campaigns
- Up to date with the latest social media trends
- A passion for the music industry and our artists
- Ability to pro-actively take ownership over key responsibilities and confidently drive results
- Able to manage multiple projects, events or deadlines through work, education, or personal projects
- Extremely organised with a strong attention to detail
