Manager, UX Design - Partners (London, UK)
Department overview: The PlayStation Partners Platform is a suite of digital tools enabling game creators to build and publish their games for PlayStation consoles and digital stores. Our mission is to make PlayStation the best platform for game publishing by understanding creators\' needs and continually improving our support services and platform design.
Role overview: As a UX Manager in the Partners team, you will shape the future of the PlayStation Partners platform used by thousands of developers worldwide. You will manage a team of UX designers, oversee design operations and strategy, and lead initiatives to enhance design maturity and processes. Hands-on design work may occasionally be required.
This is a permanent, hybrid role based in London, UK, with a team of UK and US-based designers. The team typically works 3-4 days remotely and 1-2 days in our central London office.
What you’ll be doing:
Team leadership
- Lead and mentor UX designers, fostering a collaborative, inclusive environment.
- Set goals, guide design processes, provide feedback, and evaluate performance.
- Promote learning through training, knowledge-sharing, and design critiques.
- Support team wellbeing and work/life balance.
Design operations
- Define and improve UX design approaches and processes.
- Plan and prioritize work, coordinate with product and engineering teams.
- Ensure quality and consistency in UX design across projects.
Design strategy
- Collaborate with leadership to define UX goals and KPIs aligned with business objectives.
- Advance design maturity, encourage innovative techniques, and improve ways of working.
- Develop shared resources like user archetypes and service blueprints to ensure user-centric design.
Design advocacy
- Promote user-centric principles and educate the organization on design capabilities.
- Increase the visibility of the UX team and foster collaboration across departments.
Who we’re looking for:
- 2+ years in UX management, leading design teams.
- 5+ years as a UX/Digital Product Designer, preferably on enterprise/B2B software.
- Experience navigating ambiguity, setting strategic direction, and inspiring teams.
- Proven track record in launching successful products with a focus on research and design process.
- Experience in raising design maturity and fostering a positive design culture.
- Strong knowledge of design operations, including systems and workflows.
- Proficiency in service design, user experience methods, and user research.
- Excellent project management, communication, and facilitation skills.
