Division Overview
PlayStation Studios Tech, Creative & Services is the global collection of central teams that provide world-leading support to PlayStation game development studios, platforms and beyond. From Sound, Music, Creative, Motion Capture, Visual Arts, QA, Co-Development, and Localization, to the many tools and tech teams that underpin much of PlayStation’s shared technology, the Tech, Creative and Services groups work with all of PlayStation Studio’s game development teams, and many areas of the PlayStation Platform and network infrastructures.
Working closely with Tech, Creative & Services Stakeholders, the Technical Project Manager will help drive, track and support a portfolio of technical projects and initiatives across PlayStation Studios.
Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of multiple projects of varying scope, ensuring each project is delivered on time, within scope, and with the highest level of quality.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineers, Artists, Designers, QA, and external partners/vendors, to define project objectives, requirements, and deliverables
  • Create and maintain detailed project plans, identifying project milestones, tasks, dependencies, and resource requirements
  • Effectively communicate project status to stakeholders, including senior management, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues, finding innovative solutions to ensure project success
  • Cultivate an excellent working relationship with key stakeholders across our business, with a view to deeply understanding their needs & challenges
  • Support the creation of business cases and cost-benefit analyses for projects
  • Coordinate strategic engagements with cross-functional teams, facilitating meetings and ensuring actions are captured and communicated to relevant parties
  • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing, best practices, and continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of Project Management within software, and preferably within the video gaming industry
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget
  • Strong technical background with a good understanding of software development processes, technologies, and methodologies
  • Ability to present complex data in a clear and comprehensive manner to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to travel and manage projects with distributed resources in international locations
  • Effective at working with geographically remote and culturally diverse teams
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a focus on driving results and finding creative solutions
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, which encompass communicating to executives, product managers, software engineers, and project managers
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Adapts well to changing situations and shifting requirements
  • Growth mindset – responding well to feedback with a track record of trying and learning new things
  • Generally positive demeanour – you are a joy to work with
  • Ability to work autonomously, taking independent action based on high level alignment with your manager

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience as a software developer or tester
  • PMP or other similar project management certification
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Wrike, or Microsoft Project
  • Bonus points for Jia and Confluence
  • Experience within the video games industry
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and processes, including experience with scrum master and product owner roles
