Available to UKTEC Employees only. Grade: C2A Shift: SMT 3 Shift Overview: The successful candidate will work as part of a highly-skilled and motivated team within the SMT department. The SMT department is a dynamic and fast-paced working environment, operating on a shift basis. This role is responsible for ensuring lines are changed over efficiently and accurately in-line with production needs and schedule. In times where changeover/changeover preparation is not needed, the team player will be expected to operate and run the production line.
Responsibilities
- Preparation for changeovers based on schedule
- Liaising with Shift supervisor to ensure that the team to support changeovers are doing so in an efficient manner
- Reviewing changeovers and feeding back countermeasures/improvements to the relevant departments
- Liaising with SMT programming team to correct and improve parts data base & maximize line efficiency
- Reporting of daily loss/gain reasons within changeovers to production supervisor
- Assisting technicians in determining root cause for any in-process defects
- Operate SMT production lines where the requirement is needed
Person Specification
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of SMT process
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Self motivated and pro-active with the ability to work unsupervised and using your own initiative
- High Levels of concentration required for this role
- The ability to work under pressure given the often rapid change in targets which are heavily dependent on business needs (daily interruptions can occur due to stock loss, machine breakdown or quality issues)
Desirable criteria
- Proficiency in Outlook, Oracle, Excel and Power Point would be beneficial however training would be provided where required.
- A good decision making ability (decision to alter programs to improve quality)
- Basic numeracy skills
