The role: At Sonovision, we are seeking ILS engineers with proven experience in Defence or aero domains to participate in high-impact projects over the coming years. This is a hybrid position, involving collaboration with major manufacturers and institutions across the EU. The project focuses on the development of advanced Integrated Product Support studies and technologies, defining future life cycle operational needs for next-generation defence systems, and strengthening European technological competitiveness. The selected candidates will report to the Operations Director and/or the Head of the ILS Business Unit. They will be responsible for developing, leading, and coordinating technical studies related to next-generation strategic defence programmes, ensuring compliance with technical requirements, schedules and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- ILS Baseline Definition
- Definition of operational use cases for in-service support planning.
- Development of the Integrated Logistic Support Plan (ILSP) concept and definition of initial ILS processes and tools, including functionalities and interactions.
- Contribution to high-level system architecture (design influence aligned with IPS principles).
- Analysis of applicable industry standards and existing ILS frameworks (S-Series, etc.) to ensure alignment with programme requirements and emerging technologies.
- Product configuration management
- Logistic Support Analysis, FMECA / MTA / LORA studies
- Development of failure modes, effects, criticality analyses using reliability-centered maintenance methodologies
- Development of level of Repair Analysis, Maintenance Tasks Analyses and other maintainability and reliability tasks
- Life Cycle Vision
- Definition of logistics data for advanced tools (data analytics, in-service data collection platforms, AI-based solutions).
- Obsolescence management
- Maintenance Plan Development
- Development of the maintenance plan baseline, including preventive and corrective tasks.
- Identification of modularity concepts and reusable components.
- Benchmarking of corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance approaches, including feasibility and trade-offs.
- Technical data production
- Authoring of technical data sets derived from the maintenance plan.
Requirements:
We are looking for candidates with the following profile:
- Degree in Aerospace, Industrial, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in ILS within industrial environments, preferably in the defence or aerospace sectors.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance, logistics and life cycle support standards (ILS/LSA).
- Excellent knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks (S-Series, PECAL/AQAP, MIL-STD, DEF STAN).
- Experience with technical documentation standards (e.g. S1000D, SGML, GAMI, NATO standards).
- Advanced level of English (minimum C1).
- Willingness to travel occasionally (nationally and internationally).
