Reporting to the Head of Transformation, you’ll lead our Data & Development team, oversee our in-house systems and look for practical ways to improve how we work through data, AI and automation.

You’ll also coordinate our local information-security requirements, working with Sonova’s central security team to ensure the right controls and processes are in place for Boots Hearingcare.

This is a varied leadership role where you’ll work closely with teams across the business, understand the challenges they face and help turn them into practical technology solutions.

The role

As Data, Development & Information Security Manager, you’ll lead the team responsible for our data services, in-house web systems and web development activity.

You’ll work closely with leaders and teams across the business to understand operational challenges, identify technology-led solutions and oversee their delivery from initial concept through to implementation and continuous improvement.

You’ll

  • Lead and develop the Data & Development team, setting clear priorities.
  • Oversee the delivery and improvement of in-house web applications and business-critical systems.
  • Manage the development roadmap, focusing resources on the areas that deliver the greatest value.
  • Improve how data is managed, accessed and used across the business.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through AI, automation and data.
  • Turn business needs into clear technical requirements and delivery plans.
  • Maintain effective development, testing and quality standards.
  • Coordinate local information-security requirements within Sonova’s global framework.
  • Support compliance, audits, risk reporting and incident management.
  • Provide senior leaders with clear updates on delivery, performance and technology risks.
  • Build strong relationships across Boots Hearingcare, Sonova and external partners.
  • What’s in it for you
  • Competitive salary DOE
  • 25–30 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Boots Discount Card
  • Free hearing aids (if required as an employee)
  • Free flu vaccination (discounted for family members)
  • Flexible Benefits Box – tailor your package
  • Telus wellbeing support – confidential support inside and outside work
  • Long service awards recognising your contribution
  • What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a broad technology leader who understands how data, development, AI and automation can be used to solve real business problems.

You’ll bring

  • Experience leading a data, software development, web development or multidisciplinary technology team.
  • Experience overseeing the delivery and ongoing improvement of business-critical applications or web-based systems.
  • A strong understanding of software-development planning, testing, release management and quality assurance.
  • Experience improving how an organisation collects, manages, provisions or uses data.
  • Evidence of delivering AI, automation, data or digital-improvement initiatives with measurable business benefits.
  • The ability to translate operational challenges into practical technology solutions and delivery plans.
  • Experience managing competing priorities, technical resources and development roadmaps.
  • An understanding of information-security governance, data protection and secure development principles.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical subjects clearly and influence at all levels.
  • Proven people-leadership experience, including coaching and developing technical colleagues.

Experience working within a regulated organisation or alongside a group-level information-security function would be advantageous.
