This role is a hybrid position, allowing for a combination of remote work and in-office collaboration. Qualified applicants must live within commuting distance of our Glasgow office location and should expect to be in office approximately 3 days per week.

What You’ll Do
- As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Sonos, you’ll work with the team to create and maintain the continuous integration and software delivery pipelines for Sonos.
- You’ll design, develop, and improve source control management systems, continuous integration engines, artifact repositories, and workflow automation.
- Your goal is to make it easy and efficient to take code from development environment to releasable artifact.
- This is a critical role for a cloud delivery tools and software pipeline aficionado who wants to work in a modern environment creating a great product that people love.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and delivery.
- Manage Source control management systems (Git and GitHub).
- Software build tooling for applications built on Mac, Windows, and Linux CI servers (Jenkins).
- Enterprise repository management systems (Artifactory).
- Workflow management and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, Google Suite).
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS).
- Monitor, debug and improve system performance and reliability using tools like Datadog, Grafana, or OpenSearch.
- Own and update the development experience via automated pipelines that includes timely feedback and a seamless path to release-level quality.
- Maintain and administer cloud infrastructure.
- Research, implement and democratise security best practices in CI/CD and production environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments.
- Document processes, configurations, and solutions for internal knowledge sharing.
- Mentor and guide junior DevOps engineers.
Basic Qualifications
- Working knowledge of modern source code control tools and CI/CD frameworks.
- Previous experience in a build and release engineering or related role.
- Strong Shell script experience.
- Strong programming experience.
- Experience creating or maintaining software build scripts (Maven, Gradle, or Other).
- Experience automating workflows between source control systems (Git based), CI systems (Jenkins or other), and Agile project management tools (Jira or other).
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS or other).
- Experience with containers (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Basic understanding of visualisation tools (Tableau &/ Datadog).
- Basic data analytics skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to lead technical discussions and demonstrations.
This role requires commuting distance to the Glasgow office. Qualified candidates must be able to be in our office at least 3 times a week.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient working in Github (PR - Review - Commit) Processes.
- Strong troubleshooting/analytical skills in Jenkins/Python CI/CD environments.
- Enterprise Repository Management Systems (Artifactory).
- Platform as a service tools: AWS, Kubernetes, Docker containerisation, Argo CD, Groovy, Helm.
- Code quality tools - SonarQube.
