As part of the Sonos team, you’ll collaborate with people of all styles, skill sets, and backgrounds to realise our vision while fostering a community where everyone feels included and empowered to do the best work of their lives.

This role is a hybrid position. Some roles require an office while others may be done remotely. This position is considered hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote work and in‑office collaboration. Qualified applicants must live within commuting distance of our Boston or Glasgow, Scotland office and should expect to be in office 2 to 3 days per week in order to collaborate with partners and key stakeholders.

Sonos is on a journey to be the most sought‑after audio brand in the world. Our brand experience is changing the way people listen to music, and our mission is to bring that experience to every modern music lover around the globe. We design and deliver amazing, uniquely differentiated acoustic hardware and we build the high‑performance operations teams needed to bring those products to the world.

We are looking for a transformational operations leader to build and lead our newly formed Product Execution Leader (PEL) team. The PEL role unifies what were previously two distinct functions – the Product Realization Leader (PRL) and the Product Program Manager / Leader (PPM/PPL) – into a single point of accountability for delivering Sonos products from Exploration to GA (general availability). The individual will be the leader responsible for all product execution at Sonos from Product Exploration through General Availability (GA) working closely with the Product Owner and the Product Core Team. Further, this leader will play a key role in representing Global Operations leadership to the Product Core Team on key sourcing strategies, manufacturing locations, technology and NPI cost. This is a high‑visibility leadership function.

The Director will build, develop, and continuously improve a team of PELs who each own both the operations execution engine and the program management drumbeat of an NPI program. The Director will also play a key role in developing, influencing, and aligning Sonos’ longer‑term manufacturing, sourcing, and technology strategies across the operations organisations.

What You’ll Do

  • Build a graduate degree in engineering or business is desired.
  • 15+ years of experience designing, building, and leading high‑performance teams within fast‑growing, highly innovative, and progressive environments.
  • 5+ years of Operations program management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing people directly and/or indirectly.
  • Proven track record coaching and developing people and teams, especially in globally diverse, fast‑paced, dynamic, and demanding environments.
  • Managing and working with teams in USA, Asia and Europe.
  • Broad leadership experience bringing complex, game‑changing consumer electronics products to high‑volume manufacturing; a technical background with progressive leadership roles in manufacturing operations, new product introduction/development, and/or strategic sourcing is highly desired.
  • Broad, strategic, and creative thinker with a track record of progressive thought leadership.
  • Strong collaboration skills, the ability to effectively influence across multiple groups and collaborate cross‑functionally to achieve specific goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree or diploma.
  • Experience leading teams that own both Operations Program management and program management.
  • Experience traveling and working in Asia.
  • Experience in Lean product and process development.
