Sonomatic is seeking a Field Application Engineer Level 2 to deliver High Technology NDE inspections in subsea environments, with a specific focus on ROV and robotically‑deployed NDE systems and diver‑deployed inspection techniques. The ideal candidates will be responsible for deploying and operating advanced NDE tooling via ROV, AUV and other robotic platforms, as well as supporting diver‑deployed inspection campaigns on subsea structures, pipelines and assets. Work will typically be conducted from DSVs, ROVSVs and other offshore support vessels in a global range of offshore environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate and operate NDE equipment with robotic and diver deployment systems.
- Conduct high technology inspections using UT, PAUT and TOFD techniques.
- Manage the on‑site phase of the project including client liaison and daily reporting.
- Supervise and qualify assisting personnel.
- Evaluate and sentencing inspection data in accordance with applicable codes, standards and specifications.
Candidates must hold PCN Level 2 in Ultrasonic Inspection, with qualifications in UT 3.1/3.2, Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) Level 2, and Phased Array UT Level 2 – ACFM L2 highly desirable. Valid Offshore Survival certification and Offshore Medical are required. The role demands aptitude for short‑notice global mobilisation and the ability to operate effectively in demanding offshore and subsea environments.
