About the Role
Sonomatic is seeking a productive Inspection Engineer (RG2 Category 3) to support operations in Fawley. This role is suited to an inspector who thrives in a fast‑paced site environment, is motivated to drive Inspections. We welcome applications from both Local and travelling personnel. Travelling Rotas will be 12 Days on, 9 Days off, 10 Hour Days. PAYE Start date 1/06/26
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for carrying out all allocated inspections within authorised limits.
- Responsible for carrying out inspection/line walk to ensure accuracy of WSE and inspections, if required.
- Accountable for producing comprehensive work packs as required.
- Accountable for producing comprehensive reports within 28 days of inspection completion including a recommended inspection interval.
- Accountable for reviewing and ensuring that all inspections are carried out in accordance with the relevant WSE and in compliance with Sonomatic/Client procedures.
- Accountable for providing Technical Support to all Sonomatic Personnel, the client, and third-party contractors within authorised limits.
- Accountable for reviewing all NDT results, within authorised limits.
- Responsible for raising anomalies in line with relevant anomaly procedure / criteria.
- Responsible for ensuring all agreed repairs are carried out.
- Responsible for carrying out NDT as and when required in accordance with qualifications.
- Responsible for carrying out Rope Access work as and when required in accordance with IRATA Level.
- Completing other tasks allocated by either Sonomatic or Client which are required for the smooth running of the contract.
- Operating Company CMMS.
Training & Certifications
- Minimum RG2 Category 3 appointment.
- Industry qualifications in ASME, API, and/or EEMUA.
- NDT qualifications advantageous but not essential however understanding of NDT Applications essential.
- Rope Access advantageous but not essential.
Experience
- Proven Experience in a Cat 3 appointed role, onshore under PSSR regulations.
- Proven experience inspecting pipelines, pipework, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, fired heaters, and mechanical protective devices.
- Proficient with computer‑based systems and inspection technologies.
