About This Opportunity
Your work environment :
We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager, based at our factory near North Shields, Tyne and Wear. The job holder will provide effective forecasting, planning and proceurement to ensure the flow of inventory and materials through the manufacturing operation, resulting in a high customer service levels. The job holder will also optimize the warehouse and distrubtion functions at site, manaing the materials, handling equipment contracts and supporting the group purchasing intiatives in this area.
Your mission in Sonoco
In this role, you are responsible for managing a small teams of planners and stores personnel; creating short, medium and long term capacity plans on a timely basis. It is essential to maintain and develop good working relationships with customers, logistics departments and suppliers. Effective management of stocks to provide minimal stock holding and eliminate slow moving elements across the supply chain is essential in this role. A detailed working knowledge of supply chain best practice and system improvements to develop and meeting the changing needs of the function would also be highly desirable.
About You
You have minimum 3 years experience in Supply Chain Management in a complex industrial environment. With strong leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills, you value teamwork and respect for people. You have a continuous improvement mind-set with creative thinking, problem solving and sound decision making competencies. Good with numbers, you have the ability to provide analysis and insight to complex data. You have proven experience in using ERP and IBP systems. You are fluent in English.
