Key Activities
Quality Activities:
- Ensures the safety of themselves and colleagues. Performs safety observations/audits during plant visits, and shares findings and recommendations with plant leadership team.
- Maintains Quality and Hygiene management systems. Facilitates internal audits and external certification audits.
- Works with other departments to prepare internal policies, procedures, and work instructions. Collaborates externally with customers and suppliers to agree on standards and specifications.
- Handles customer complaints by working with Sales, QC, and Production teams to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Manages internal complaints related to purchased materials, liaising with purchasing and suppliers to ensure effective investigations and corrective actions.
- Acts as the quality contact for liaising directly with Customers, Sales, Technology, and Production to implement new products, product improvements, and cost reduction programs.
- Uses data analysis, root cause analysis, and lean tools to improve quality and eliminate waste. Demonstrates expertise in process capability and statistical control.
- Analyzes customer feedback to identify trends and drives continuous improvement.
- Sets plant quality objectives, and trains, coaches, mentors plant quality personnel and other departments in quality tools and processes.
- Prepares daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports using meaningful KPIs and scorecards.
- Represents Quality in the plant management team.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
Required:
Degree in a technical, manufacturing, or business subject. ISO 9001/14001 experience. NEBOSH qualification. Experience in BRC/IoP food or food packaging standards. TS 16949 or IATF 16949 experience.

- Customer and supplier complaints, quality costs internally and externally
- Passing ISO, BRC/IoP, and customer audits
- Management of team
- Implementation of 5S in QA department
Skills and Experience
Required:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication, leadership, and management experience. Knowledge of SPC and control charts. Experience with customer complaint management software. Familiarity with 8D, Ishikawa, and 5 Why methodologies. Knowledge of APQP.
