Position: Mechanical Production Engineer
Shift: Treble shifts
Wage: As a Mechanical Production Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of production equipment in line with standard operating procedures. You will support multiple areas of the manufacturing process as required, working to achieve plant objectives and meet customer requirements. Safety is the top priority for every employee and underpins everything we do.
Responsibilities
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Ensure production lines are safe to operate, including completing PUWER checks
- Set up, adjust, and optimise production lines
- Respond quickly to mechanical issues to minimise downtime, spoilage, and inefficiencies
- Carry out daily, weekly, monthly, and annual machine maintenance
- Support maintenance and machine shop operations, prioritising work based on changing day-to-day requirements
- Perform line changeovers and die/tool changes as required
Qualifications
- Have 2–3 years’ mechanical experience
- Have previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Hold an NVQ Level 3 Engineering qualification
- Have strong mechanical, numerical, and verbal aptitude and can learn quickly
- Can work effectively as part of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision
- Are flexible and willing to carry out additional tasks in support of general maintenance and production activities
