Responsibilities
- Conduct daily checks, using standard laboratory equipment.
- Conduct conductivity checks.
- Check cans on turnover for cleanliness and damage, feed fallen cans from transfer and turnover back into infeed; removing damaged cans.
- Ensure Washcoat process is in specification and controlled.
- Conduct running repairs and adjustments to maintain equipment within specified operating parameters of the washer and dryer.
- Perform planned maintenance as per schedule including TC86 + spray bar cleans.
- Troubleshooting and fault finding of the system.
- Assist the Serviceman/Service Engineer where required to complete activities.

- Comply with Sonoco EHS policy and statutory requirements at all times.

- Completion of all mandatory, Convergence training and refreshers as required in a timely manner.

- Support the business with carrying out safety observations and discussions with others, finding any fixes or improvements which can be proposed to the site.
- Effective waste management control within the relevant area of responsibility, to control, reduce and eliminate waste within anything that we do.
- Adhere to high levels of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and ensure 5S is carried out at all times.

Quality
- Ensure all stages of the washer process remain within a pre‑determined specification.
- Ensure the condition of the can leaving the washer/dryer is at the correct specification for the following process.
- Reporting and recording of disciplines and checks.
- Liaise with the Shift Manager/Quality Engineer regarding day to day operations/alterations within the washer process.
- Adhere to quality and food initiatives with regard to Food Safety.
General
- Assist in trials and installation/commissioning of equipment and size changeovers, as directed by the Shift Manager/Team Leaders.
- Work flexibly in any work area as far as safety and capability allows.
- Update SOPs and implement any improvements or alteration where required.
Jobholder Requirements
- Jobholders are expected to possess good all‑round mechanical or technical skills.
- Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment and a forklift truck licence would be advantageous.

Shift Pattern
- Continental Based Shift Rota, attending 2 x 12‑hour days followed by 2 x 12‑hour nights, then 4 days off.
- Every 5 shift patterns a set break of time off which equates to 144 rostered shifts per year.
