This position provides research support for grant management and audits for academic and research staff in the department. The job will entail providing comprehensive administrative support for one of our large research groups including their conference, workshops, and travel requirements. The post-holder will work closely with the Department’s senior academic and administrative staff including the Head of Department and Director of Operations. This is a busy and varied post which requires a person who can multi-task and work to deadlines. The post involves a high level of interaction with staff of all levels, and the post-holder must combine a professional approach with a friendly and welcoming manner. This is a full-time fixed-term position for 12 months to start as soon as possible. An agreed schedule will be set as the standard working pattern; however, flexibility regarding onsite days and working hours may be required on occasion by prior arrangement.
What you would be doing:
- Preparing audit reports, account reconciliations and monitoring grant claims to ensure compliance.
- Seminar, workshop and conference organisation including arranging accommodation and travel, reimbursements, booking rooms and catering.
- Processing expense claims and raising purchasing orders and booking travel and accommodation.
- Responding to queries from grant and contract holders, including re-budgeting requests.
- Coordinating financial reports of the Group’s research portfolio, budgets and accounts.
- Assisting with timesheet completion for research projects.
