The Research Associate in Computational Liver Immunology position is funded by a UKRI MRC research grant awarded to Dr Gudd. The post holder will work on an exciting new project assessing the effectiveness of targeting immunological pathways for the treatment of checkpoint inhibitor-induced liver inflammation. They will generate new, and/or use available, single-cell and spatial multi-omics datasets from human tissues and mouse models for in-depth computational analysis. Generated data will give necessary insights into potential novel therapeutic approaches to treat this condition.
What you would be doing:
- A large proportion of the project will involve the analysis of generated and/or already available high throughput biological datasets and multi-layered network analysis.
- Additionally, the successful applicant will carry out wet-lab experimental work combining human tissue sample analysis and in vivo mouse models.
- They will use techniques such as single-cell and spatial multi-omics, tissue multiplex immunofluorescence and flow cytometry.
- They will undertake project management, co-supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, present their work at lab meetings and national/international conferences and submit publications to refereed journals.
What we are looking for:
