We are looking for a dynamic, hard-working and enthusiastic Communications Co‑ordinator. This is a key role within the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) in Respiratory Infections; a flagship partnership between Imperial College London and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) conducting state of the art scientific research to support public health services.
What you would be doing:
- Assist in day-to-day initiation, management and execution of HPRU-related project activities.
- Lead the HPRU’s Patient and Public Involvement, Engagement and Participation (PPIEP) activities.
- Organise all events and deliver a coherent and effective communications strategy for the HPRU.
- Facilitate communication between the HPRU and key stakeholders, maintaining information flow.
What we are looking for:
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant field (media communications, scientific discipline), or appropriate work experience.
- Experience in developing strong working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, including the public.
- Experience of leading large events organisation.
- Ability to utilise a wide variety of effective project management techniques.
- Excellent time management skills; proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, interacting productively with people at all levels.
- Facilitating Patient and Public Involvement, Engagement and Participation (PPIEP) activities, and its evaluation is desirable.
