What you would be doing:

  • Join Imperial College London as a Business Analyst within the Transformation Team. Operating in a matrix environment, you will focus on improving the value delivered to students, faculty and researchers across key service journeys.
  • You will analyse and shape end-to-end experiences, turning user insight into measurable improvements and better outcomes.
  • Throughout the design lifecycle, you will develop evidence-based options that inform strategic decisions and support successful delivery.
  • Gather and synthesise user needs — run interviews, workshops and observational research to capture problems and priorities.
  • Define clear, testable requirements — convert insight into requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria that steer solution design and delivery.
  • Map and design processes — create as-is and to-be process maps and value flows that reveal improvement opportunities.
  • Shape solutions — work with architects, developers and service owners to validate designs and participate in acceptance testing.
  • Deliver decision-ready artefacts — produce concise analysis, options appraisals, and data that enable informed choices.
  • Investigate complex issues — deep-dive into ad-hoc business problems, identify root causes and recommend pragmatic, evidence-based solutions.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in business analysis, service design or a closely related role, ideally within complex organisations.
  • Strong stakeholder skills — able to engage confidently at all levels and across functions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability, with attention to data and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience documenting processes and producing artefacts that support decision-making.
  • A collaborative, adaptable approach — comfortable working in a changing environment and delivering to tight timelines.
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and clear, accessible communication.

You will be expected to work flexibly across teams, producing high-quality outputs that support programme decisions and delivery.

Further information:

  • First stage virtual interviews will take place w/c 1st July and second stage in-person interviews will take place w/c 15th July.
  • This role is for a fixed-term contract for 12 months. There is also a 6 month FTC role available.
