About the Role

Department: Laboratory Management
Location: 60 Whitfield Street, London, W1T 4EU
Contract / Hours: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Salary range: Up to £83,362 per annum DOE inclusive of regional pay allowance

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a large team of laboratory staff to provide clinical diagnostic services to UCLH and RNOH Trusts, including Specimen Reception, Haematology, Biochemistry, Haemostasis, Blood Transfusion, POCT and satellite labs.
  • Work closely with clinical staff, Senior Operations Management of Sonic Healthcare UK, UCLH and RNOH Trusts to manage operational performance and deliver excellent patient care.
  • Support and develop services, embed an improvement culture and oversee quality management and compliance with UKAS accreditation against ISO 15189:2022.
  • Co‑operate with educational faculty and training officers to provide specialist and postgraduate training opportunities for the team.
  • Ensure the 24/7 operation of the Blood Sciences laboratory and round‑the‑clock backup for the RNOH site.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across all disciplines.
