The Role
As a Capacity Market Controller, you will support the management and delivery of key processes within the Capacity Markets team. You’ll help prepare and analyse information, coordinate activities, and ensure that important deadlines—set out in industry rules and codes—are met. You’ll work closely with your counterparts in EirGrid and collaborate with Analysts, Coordinators and Senior Controllers to keep all parts of the process running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone organised, detail‑focused, and keen to build experience in the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day‑to‑day operation of Capacity Market Registration, Qualification, and Reporting
- Respond to internal and external queries within agreed timeframes
- Contribute to internal and external audits
- Help onboard and support training for team members
- Provide updates and reporting to the Senior Controller and Manager
- Coordinate with external user groups and follow up on actions
- Organise customer meetings and ensure clear, timely communication
- Deliver high‑quality work within agreed timelines
- Work collaboratively with EirGrid colleagues to ensure consistent processes
Critical Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Degree in Business, IT, Finance, Engineering or similar, typically with 1–2 years’ relevant experience
- Experience coordinating and delivering key tasks within a team
- Strong relationship‑building skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent time‑management and organisational skills
- Clear and confident communicator
- Good numeracy and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small team
Desirable:
- Experience in the energy or power systems sector
- Engineering background
- Experience presenting to large groups
