What can SONI offer
We are offering paid placements for Engineering, Finance and Business (Energy Policy/ Regulation) students based in Castlereagh House, Belfast.
This placement offers up to 11 months of valuable work experience and is expected to run from June 2027 to June 2028.
This challenging and varied placement offers the opportunity to apply academic learning in a professional environment while gaining valuable practical experience. Participants will be supported throughout the placement by a dedicated mentor and will receive regular feedback to support their development.

What do I need to apply?
Successful candidates should be studying a degree or master’s in engineering, finance, business (energy policy-related) discipline.
Candidates should also be able to demonstrate evidence of the following competencies:
- Teamwork – Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Effective communication skills – Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Well-developed numeracy and analytical skills.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
