The Role
This opportunity sits within EirGrid Group, which operates the all-island electricity grid. The Operations and Asset Management Directorate oversees real-time and near real-time system and market operations. We are seeking a Controller – Registration to join the Settlement, Stakeholder Engagement and Registration team. This role can be based in either Dublin or Belfast and will work collaboratively across EirGrid and SONI. In this role, you will support registration processes across multiple electricity markets (including SEMO, SEMOpx and the Capacity Market), coordinate day‑to‑day registration activities, respond to stakeholder queries, and work closely with colleagues to deliver key operational outputs. You will also play an important role in driving continuous improvement—identifying opportunities to enhance processes, supporting innovation, and contributing to transformational change across the Directorate.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pre‑registration and registration processes for market participants
- Manage and respond to registration‑related queries, prioritising effectively and providing solutions
- Coordinate daily registration activities and deliverables with cross‑functional teams
- Provide technical and process support within the registration function
- Identify issues and recommend improvements, escalating where appropriate
- Contribute to projects and initiatives representing the registration function
- Analyse operational challenges and support the implementation of effective solutions
- Ensure all outputs are delivered to a high standard, on time, and with a customer‑focused approach
Essential Qualifications
- A relevant third‑level qualification or at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role (ideally within a regulated environment)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions
- High attention to detail and a quality‑focused mindset
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non‑technical audiences
- Collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in electricity markets or the energy sector
- Knowledge of SEMO, SEMOpx or Capacity Market processes
- Experience in process improvement, change initiatives, or automation
- Experience contributing to projects or cross‑functional workstreams
- Strong reporting and presentation skills
