We’re seeking a Head of Accounting, Control & Compliance to join the Songtradr Group on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This role sits at the heart of the finance function, owning the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of entity accounting and compliance.

You’ll lead the accounting “engine room”, ensuring clean data, a fast month-end close, and compliance across all jurisdictions. This role reports to the Global CFO (Australia) and has a dotted-line relationship with the Head of Group Finance & Reporting (Australia) to ensure alignment on outputs, policies, and standards. You’ll join a global finance team operating across multiple markets, supporting a fast-moving business which is shaping its finance function for the future. The expectation is that this role is a strong transformation lead with a high degree of ownership, bringing structure, discipline, attention to detail, and continuous improvement to accounting, controls, and compliance.

Main Job Duties

  • Responsible for leading the global accounting function and ensuring operational excellence across all core financial processes.
  • Ownership of the entity month-end close cycle, ensuring on-time accuracy and completeness of entity accounting and deliverables.
  • Manage, develop, and engage a team of five global-based finance professionals.
  • Work closely with the Finance Operations Manager and the Finance Operations team to collaborate on and ensure high-quality data entry, and to manage upstream and downstream processes.
  • Design, implement, and enforce internal control frameworks, including supporting the banking relationships.
  • Accountability for statutory and regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions, including payroll, filings, and audits.
  • Ownership of the ERP system as the accounting “super user”, supporting ongoing optimization and ensuring the Chart of Accounts remains clean, scalable, and aligned with Group Finance.
  • Drive continuous improvement across systems and processes to increase the accuracy, completeness, and speed of accounting and reporting.
  • Approve key payments across AP, payroll, statutory, and tax, and own relevant accounting policies in consultation with Group Finance and Finance Operations.
  • Other projects and tasks as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience leading accounting functions in a multi-entity, international environment and leading teams through transformational change.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience to ensure accuracy of local GAAP and IFRS accounting.
  • Proven ownership and improvement of the month-end close and financial reporting processes.
  • Deep understanding of internal controls and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience managing statutory reporting, audits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and maintaining a scalable Chart of Accounts.
  • Strong leadership experience in managing and developing accounting teams.
  • Ability to operate with high ownership and accountability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to set the path and structure, and work in the grey.
  • Experience in high-growth or scaling businesses.
  • Exposure to global finance structures and cross-border operations.
  • Track record of improving finance processes, controls, and systems.
  • Experience working closely with Group Finance / FP&A functions.
